Suffocating cells show sex difference
Future may hold tailored treatment for brain injury.
Maleand female brains respond to damage in different ways, according to studies of dying brain cells in rats. The discovery suggests that life-saving treatments for suffocation or near-drowning could be suited to the sex of the patient.
