Push for next generation of contraceptives
Report calls for better ways to develop new prophylactics.
A catalogue of the genes and proteins found in sperm and eggs could help create the next generation of contraceptives, says a new report.
The report, released last week by the US Institute of Medicine, recommends steps that scientists and pharmaceutical companies should take in order to widen the range of contraceptive choices, and to make them more effective1.
