Grey squirrels nick reds' nuts
Food theft may be starving red squirrels.
Grey squirrels can be thieves as well as bullies and virus-ridden vectors of disease. The greys' pilfering of their fellow animals' food stores could have fuelled their rise and red squirrels' concomitant demise.
