Ballast purge scuppers invasions

A new way to stop ships rusting could also benefit the environment.

A new way to reduce rust on ships could also curb the spread of invasive species around the world. Removing oxygen from the seawater that ships carry for balance kills many of the animals living there that can become pests in new places.
