Modified bacteria spot arsenic

Cheap test for tainted wells on trial in Vietnam.

Gut bacteria genetically modified to glow when they sense arsenic could become super-sensitive sentinels for contaminated water.

In Bangladesh, India, Vietnam and Chile, arsenic is a major threat to public health - natural deposits contaminate groundwater.
