Roman pipeline kept water flowing

Ancient aqueduct at Aspendos was a hydraulic masterpiece.

Computer modelling is lifting the lid on the secrets of Roman hydraulic engineering1. Hitherto mysterious hurdles and holes, it hints, may have smoothed the flow of water.
