New York's trash holds steady
Big Apple residents throw out less than their grandparents.
New Yorkers throw out about the same amount of trash as they did 100 years ago, a survey has shown. But the ingredients of garbage have changed radically, with a shift to organic waste that releases greenhouse gases.
