Wave devastated Seattle area
Ancient tsunami provides clues to future threat.
Around 1,100 years ago, a tsunami devastated the northwestern coast of North America where the city of Seattle now stands, computer modelling has revealed. The research could help planners reduce damage and loss of life in the event of a future giant wave1.
