Scope seeks Universal violence
Gamma-ray vision to reveal black holes and elusive blasts.
Astronomers will soon be seeing some of the most violent events in the Universe in unprecedented detail, following today's launch of Integral, the most sensitive gamma-ray telescope ever sent into space.
The US$600-million telescope took 20 years to plan and another nine to build.
