Pests bug plant defence message
Insects stomach plant chemical weapons by intercepting maydays.
In the war between plants and the insects that eat them, espionage may be giving the bugs the upper hand. Insect eavesdropping could scupper plans to use plants' natural defence compounds as ecologically friendly pesticides.
