Catalyst gets cracking
New zeolite might make oil refining more efficient.
A new catalyst could improve the breakdown of heavy oil into fuel and raw materials for industry, a process called cracking. The catalyst's atomic architecture lets in more big molecules for conversion to smaller ones1.
