Earth pains?

Astronomers suspect star like our Sun when young is giving birth to planets.

With additional reporting from Geoff Brumfiel of Nature's News and Features team

To great fanfare, astronomers announced today the discovery of a star, much like our Sun as an infant, that may be undergoing the same processes that gave rise to the planets of our Solar System, including Earth.

Following a recent international campaign of near-constant observation, the star's discoverers now believe they have enough data to "guess" at what might be going on around it.
