Gene expression profiling predicts clinical outcome of breast cancer

Genetic profiling could help tailor treatment to tumour.

Faint dots glowing on thumbnails of glass could help diagnose and treat breast cancer1. By revealing which genes are switched on in tumours, the dots may help doctors tailor therapy to maximize its effectiveness and minimize side-effects.
