Muscles damp bad vibrations
Tiny fibres ensure racehorses don't bounce themselves to bits.
"Think when we talk of horses," wrote Shakespeare in the Prologue to Henry V, "that you see them/ Printing their proud hoofs i'the receiving earth". But horses do more than print - they bounce.
