Birds accept sweets from strange flowers

A Brazilian shrub tempts pollinators with jelly.

Most plants offer visitors a soft drink, rewarding pollinators with liquid nectar. Researchers have discovered one shrub that gives out sweets instead - its flowers ply birds with pellets of sugary jelly.
