Astounding bat mobility

Bat sonar can spot a beetle in a bush in the dark.

Birds have inspired aeronautical engineers since the days of the Wright brothers. Bats may be less elegant, but new evidence of the sophistication of their sonar navigational skills suggests there is still a lot they can teach us about flying in the dark.
