Smokers get more than they bargain for

The tar and nicotine ratings shown on cigarette packets are a poor guide to what smokers actually suck up.

The tar and nicotine ratings on cigarette packets are unrelated to smokers' actual intakes. Whatever the type of cigarette they are smoking, smokers take in large amounts of nicotine simply by puffing harder.
