Arctic plants can stand the heat
The ability of ecosystems to adapt to climate change is highlighted by recent findings from the frozen north.
Ecosystems can adapt to reduce the impact of a warmer, drier climate, new research in Nature 1suggests.
Walter Oechel of San Diego State University, California, has spent many years studying the interactions between climate and the processes of growth and decay in ecosystems of the Arctic regions.
