Trumping bacterial resistance
Philip Ball reports on how antibiotic designers are foiling drug-resistant bacteria by letting them bite off more than they can chew.
Many bacteria have developed resistance to conventional antibiotics. Making new antibacterial agents that overcome this resistance is one of the most serious challenges facing medical science.
