Late arrival

Our ancient relatives had one less infectious bug to worry about, Hannah Wunsch discovers.

Some bacteria have been with us since the very beginning. Helicobacter pylori -- a bug causing some stomach ulcers and cancers -- was thought to be one of these, infecting humans for millions of years.
