Flying high

Starlings may pack their nests with powerful aromatic herbs to give fledglings a flying start in life, explains David Adam.

Crows may not be the only birds to get stoned. Young starlings fly further in life if they grow up in a drug-filled environment, intoxicating new research suggests.
