The statistical map was obtained by contrasting BOLD signals induced from intact and scrambled images of objects. Color bars in the upper right corner show the P values of the contrast between intact versus scrambled objects, with the threshold set at P = 0.0001. Identified ROIs consist of V3A/V7, intraparietal sulcus (IPS) in the dorsal pathway and lateral occipital complex (LOC), temporal object areas in the ventral pathway. Activation patterns are consistent within the dorsal and ventral pathway and are collectively reported in the main text. The same right hemisphere is shown in lateral view (left) and in bottom view (right).
