This particular data set represents an optical section series of a filled neuron imaged with confocal microscopy (Volume). The dendritic branching structure was traced using Neurolucida (Segmented Object). A higher-resolution view of the traced structure is shown at the upper right. The location of the cell in a brain atlas is also available (Map Image) and the coordinates are stored in the database. Users may also issue a query against the Yale Senselab databases on neuronal properties11, 32 to find additional information about the cell type returned from the query.
