For dop-1, the vs100 deletion removes sequences encoding most of the seventh transmembrane domain and truncates the protein by changing the reading frame. The in-frame vs101 deletion removes sequences encoding most of the fourth transmembrane domain and the entire second extracellular loop. For dop-2, the vs105 deletion removes the splice acceptor for exon 2 as well as sequences encoding most of the first two transmembrane domains. For dop-3, the vs106 deletion removes 86 base pairs of the promoter along with sequences encoding the first transmembrane domain, the first intracellular loop and most of the second transmembrane domain.
