Measuring PSA velocity to track prostatic pathophysiologic states is appealing for its simplicity, however, much debate continues as to its clinical value in the diagnosis and characterization of prostate cancer. Phillips and Smith discuss the significance of PSA velocity as a diagnostic measure.
