Use of a vacuum erection device after radical prostatectomy prevents penile shortening

Penile shortening is one of several negative effects on sexual health that is associated with prostate surgery; in a previous study, Dalkin and Christopher found that 48% of men who underwent radical prostatectomy experienced a significant (
1 cm) reduction in penile length 3 months postoperatively. In the current study, the authors assessed whether the use of a vacuum erection device (VED) after surgery prevents penile shortening.
