Active surveillance with selective delayed intervention is the way to manage 'good-risk' prostate cancer
136With the increase in prevalence of prostate cancer following the introduction of PSA screening, most cancers are now detected at an early stage. In patients with 'good-risk' prostate cancer there is a risk of overtreatment, but it is important that this should be balanced with the possibility of undertreating those at risk of disease progression.
