Pfetin predicts outcome for patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors

The molecular background of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) has been investigated through genome and transcriptome studies, but the proteomic profile of these tumors has not yet been established. Suehara et al. conducted a quantitative expression study of intact proteins in GIST samples to investigate this profile and determined that decreased expression of pfetin predicts poor outcome in patients with these tumors.
