Although early detection of breast cancer, implementation of adjuvant systemic therapy and increased use of chemotherapy have improved breast cancer survival, adjuvant treatment decisions are still made on the basis of prognostic parameters that are unable to identify all patients at risk. At the same time, use of these parameters causes the overtreatment of certain patient subgroups.
