No apparent benefits of IDPN over oral supplements in malnourished hemodialysis patients

Although protein–calorie malnutrition in hemodialysis patients increases morbidity and mortality, the effects of intradialytic parenteral nutrition (IDPN) on patient outcomes have not been stringently assessed. A recent French study has prospectively evaluated the addition of IDPN to oral nutritional supplementation in malnourished patients on hemodialysis.
