Intravascular ultrasonography provides a quantitative measure of the cross-section of the vessel and a quantitative measure of lesion length and tissue characterization. Tissue characterization automatically identifies fibrous (dark green), fibrofatty (light green), dense calcium (white) and necrotic core (red).
