The incidence of childhood hypertension is increasing in line with obesity and type II diabetes mellitus.1, 2 Since the advent of immunizations, pediatricians have placed great emphasis on preventive medicine, successfully reducing the incidence of infectious disease. Now is the time to address the emergence in childhood of chronic diseases previously the purview of those who care for adults.
