The benefits of prompt reperfusion therapy for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) are well established, yet treatment is often delivered too slowly or not at all. The RACE study assessed whether a coordinated statewide program could help to overcome some of the barriers to prompt treatment within the current system.
