CABG surgery, but not PCI, is a cost-effective treatment for coronary disease

Medical management, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and CABG surgery are all viable therapeutic strategies for coronary disease. The choice between these methods is made largely on the basis of clinical appropriateness. Griffin et al. carried out a 6-year prospective observational study to investigate whether, when judged clinically appropriate, these treatments are also cost-effective.
