Low NT-proBNP levels can rule out ventricular dysfunction in patients with CHD

The inactive N-terminal fragment of pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) has been linked to ventricular dysfunction in the general population, and is predictive of cardiac events. Corteville et al. investigated this association in 730 patients with stable coronary heart disease and no history of heart failure recruited from the Heart and Soul Study.
