Dedicated hospital units more effective for acute stroke care

Studies have indicated benefits associated with the admission of patients with stroke to dedicated stroke-care units, but such units have not been universally established. Candelise et al. conducted an observational follow-up study to determine whether patients with acute stroke admitted to dedicated care facilities have better long-term outcomes than those admitted to conventional wards.
