Carvedilol is superior to metoprolol for prevention of vascular effects in heart failure

This article has no abstract so we have provided the first paragraph of the full text.

Carvedilol has the capacity to block both the beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptors, as well as the alpha-1 receptors. There is evidence to indicate that full adrenergic blockade by carvedilol improves survival and cardiovascular outcome in patients with heart failure compared with metoprolol treatment, which blocks the beta-1 receptors only.
