Screening children could identify families at high risk of cardiovascular disease

Early identification and modification of risk factors is crucial for the prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet screening is not routine for children or young and middle-aged adults. A new study by Cohen Reis et al. indicates that screening children, who access primary care more regularly than adults, could help identify parents with a high CVD risk.
