New protocol improves door-to-balloon time in STEMI

Guidelines recommend that patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) receive emergency percutaneous coronary intervention within 90 min, yet treatment within this timeframe is only achieved in 32% of patients in the US.
