Novel Wnt antagonists target porcupine and Axin

The Wnt signaling pathway has long been a focus of developmental biologists, who have uncovered its myriad roles in embryonic development. Using genetic screens, most of the essential components of the pathway have been discovered, including proteins involved in the processing and secretion of the Wnts, the Wnt receptors and co-receptors, and a host of proteins that transduce Wnt signals to the cell nucleus.
