Scaffold proteins as dynamic switches
Abstract
Multiple proteins in signaling pathways are often assembled into their supramolecular complexes and targeted to specific regions of cells by multimodular scaffold proteins. The success of this organization and localization is critical for signaling efficiency and specificity.
