Small molecules thwart crash and burn

Abstract
In the past decade, the zebrafish has become a favorite model organism for developmental and behavioral biologists, and it is now emerging as an invaluable alternative to mouse with unique advantages for modeling a wide range of human diseases. The remarkable success of the organism, whose genome sequence is now nearly complete, owes to optically clear, rapidly developing embryos of small size that can be obtained on a day-to-day basis.
