Debugging cellular reprogramming

In-Hyun Park & George Q. Daley

Direct reprogramming of somatic cells promises to illuminate our understanding of how the differentiated state of a specialized somatic cell can be reversed. Once replicated with human cells, direct reprogramming will provide a method of creating patient-specific pluripotent cells that will be invaluable for disease research and, potentially, will usher in an era of cell replacement therapies.
