Barriers to Ras transformation
Abstract
It has been increasingly clear that cells on the verge of forming tumours undergo altruistic responses such as apoptosis or cellular senescence. The senescence-induced permanent proliferative arrest may confine tumours to a benign stage and recruit cells of the innate immune system for their elimination.
