Leading-edge research: PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 and directed migration

Chemotaxis is the ability to move in the direction of increasing or decreasing concentrations of external signalling molecules. This process guides the spread of metastatic cancer cells towards growth factors, the coordinated cell movements that produce morphogenesis during development and the migration of immune cells to sites of infection.
