Arp2/3 ATP hydrolysis: to branch or to debranch?

The Arp2/3 complex is a pivotal regulator of actin-filament assembly for various cellular processes. In response to signalling triggers, the complex forms branched actin networks that provide the force for cellular locomotion, endocytosis, phagocytosis and intracellular transport of vesicles and bacterial pathogens.
