Abstract
In Xenopus and zebrafish, Bmp signalling has a critical function in patterning cell fates along the dorsal–ventral axis (reviewed in refs 1 and 2). Bmps signal through members of the type I and type II TGF-β serine/threonine receptor kinase family.
