Substrate specificity: PI(3)K|[gamma]| has it both ways

Jonathan M. Backer

PI(3)Ks are a family of lipid kinases that have been implicated in various cellular processes including motility, resistance to apoptosis, and vesicular transport. Ligand-stimulated endocytosis of β-adrenergic receptor (βAR), a G-protein-coupled receptor that is important in the regulation of cardiac function, has previously been shown to require the PI(3)K isoform PI(3)Kγ.
