A sixth sense for Rab5
Abstract
Rab5 is one of the more intensely studied members of the large and diverse family of Rab GTPases. Functional studies indicate that it is a key regulator of early endocytosis, where it is involved in clathrin-coated vesicle formation, fusion between early endosomes, endosomal cargo recruitment and endosomal motility.
