The Myc trilogy: lord of RNA polymerases

All human cancers carry multiple mutations that lead to inactivation of tumour suppressor genes and activation of oncogenes. Initial characterization revealed that many of these genes control the cell cycle, leading to the conventional view that deregulation of cell division is the principal mechanism driving tumour progression.
